We are delighted to launch SDG OpenCAPIF and consolidate our portfolio of Software activities in support of ETSI and 3GPP standardization. OpenCAPIF delivers an open source Common API Framework allowing for consistent and secure API exposure and consumption in future networks.
ETSI SDG OpenCAPIF represents a pivotal enabler that empowers network applications to seamlessly interface with 5G networks through APIs, significantly enhancing service innovation and ecosystem diversity.
The Institute for Software Engineering and Software Technology of University of Malaga (ITIS) joins ETSI SDG OpenCAPIF to continue the strong collaboration with OpenCAPIF co-founders in international projects. ITIS is building and operating the Victoria Network research infrastructure (www.victoria-network.eu) as part of its commitment to become an Excellence Centre in 5G experimentation. Testing applications and using CAPIF to expose the network features is one of our next objectives.
OpenCAPIF realises a standards-aligned API manager for exposure and consumption of API services in a secure and vendor-agnostic manner. As such, OpenCAPIF is the key enabler for mobile network openness to third party software, while it can play the role of gateway in any open architecture.
As a global technology leader, Motorola Mobility is committed to driving innovation in connectivity and interoperability. Becoming a founding member of OpenCAPIF underlines our belief in the power of standardized frameworks to unleash new opportunities, not just for us, but for the entire ecosystem. OpenCAPIF stands as a beacon for what collaborative efforts can achieve—providing robust, secure, and unified API interfaces that will pave the way for agile and intelligent solutions in a hyperconnected world. We are excited to contribute to this monumental initiative and shape the future of digital transformation.
NCSR Demokritos is proud to be a founder member of the ETSI SDG OpenCAPIF, which will enable the standardised exposure of some common capabilities for realizing the openness and network programmability of the 5G/6G mobile communication networks that will boost innovation and creativity.
